Interesting watch.

So, NAS is ending?
Well, a feature of this fediverse thing is that you can just move somewhere else. I have my own instance here (feel free to register/migrate here though, it should be open)

Anyway, waiting to see how it all shakes out.

Yaay, new OpenBSD!

@adam I seem to remember that this was a thing you used to talk about on NA, but it's happening again:

@krisvox

Nice, well then you need a lot of options.

I love big pedalboard setups, but I hate carrying those to a venue. Not much that can break with mine. Not that many "moving" parts. How do you power that thing? All though adapters under the pedalboard? Or are you a battery guy?

@krisvox

I'm a pedal minimalist, but this one is a must have. All I have on my pedalboard is a distortion, overdrive, noise gate and a tuning pedal. You don't need much for extreme metal.

@krisvox

Yes, and available again. It has two modes. A new standard mode which is actually better for extended range guitars and a bit tighter in the high end, and a classic mode which basically is the original pedal. There is a switch near the power barrel where you can toggle it.

My swedish chainsaw just arrived.

EDIT:

Observations while using this pedal (Boss HM-2 wa):

- To get that iconic swedeath sound, you *need* to dime it as shown in the picture.
- Using a noise gate is recommended. Running it the recommended way is noisy. Noise floor is better in the custom mode.
- It has a *lot* of gain. Choose your levels wisely. Beware of feedback.
- Best amp settings: slight crunch, EQ at noon.

@SirSeanofSlovakia

Ah, the Keto flu. It will pass. It takes about a week for most, it can last for two or three weeks. To be on the safe side, give it a month.

Your body is switching over from carbs to fat for it's main fuel source, and it will moan at you for it.

@meatlotion

Yeah it needs to flush data, so it waits for a sync.

If you're really desperate, you can try a reboot. It's a COW-filesystem, so it will not corrupt.

Is your pool degraded in any way? It could also be that your disk (or some disk in the pool) might not be that happy. This can cause scrubbing to stall quite a bit.

I would suggest checking SMART data to see how the hardware is doing before trying anything and making a backup while you still can.

@meatlotion

zpool scrub -s [poolname]

@meatlotion Yeah, also on my own instance. :)

@SirSeanofSlovakia Keep going! And damn, that's a whole mess of pedals. I only use an overdrive, a tuner, a DI-box and a noise gate. On the other hand, the type of music I play doesn't require much (hint, it's Metal).

@truthaddict Werner von Braun enters the chat...

@SirSeanofSlovakia that sucks. Tendonitis is a bitch. I get bouts of it if I don't play for too long.

Wishing for a speedy recovery and take it easy.

@thor it's criminally expensive here in .nl, it's subscription based, and you have to get seperate subscriptions for train and bus/tram.

@distrotube Haven't seen any breakage. I run pure Arch, no derivative. Also, I try to keep my AUR usage to a minimum.

I guess the #twitter exiles are finding out that the #fediverse is not Twitter after all.
